Zack Wheeler delivered seven excellent innings with nine strikeouts and held Atlanta to three hits after the Mets decided to keep the ascendant right-hander at the non-waiver Trade Deadline. Rookie infielder Jeff McNeil paced New York’s offense with four hits, and the Mets handed Deadline acquisition Kevin Gausman — who allowed three runs over five-plus innings — a loss in his Braves debut.
