Jordy Mercer doubled in two in the Pirates’ four-run second inning and added a homer to knock D-backs ace Zack Greinke out of the game after 4 2/3 innings, his shortest start of the season, and Pittsburgh held off a late Arizona rally for the win. Josh Harrison and Josh Bell also knocked in runs in the big frame, while starter Jameson Taillon delivered seven quality innings. David Peralta hit a two-run homer in the first, and Jon Jay knocked a two-run single in the ninth off Bucs closer Felipe Vazquez, who quieted the D-backs’ rally to earn the save.
